Best app for learning knots

I used the app mostly for fishing knots. I especially like the 3D videos that show you exactly how to tie each knot. Many of the knots I have used before but sometimes don’t remember the details. The app is easy to use and very handy when out on the boat giving you access anywhere and time you need to reference a particular knot.

A+ for the selection and the way the visualization can be manipulated, seeing it from all sides and slowing it down or scrubbing back and forth. Knots have many a names so there's times where I'll have to search the internet for its other names before I find it in the app, but they are definitely all in the app. It helps me to familiarize myself with photos or videos of the knots in the real world on the web but then it's indispensable having the app in the field as a resource to "remind" myself how the knot is tied. But learning is a worthy endeavor and you won't believe how often you can use knots more functional than a square knot around the house. I used a simple constructor knot to tie yard scraps up using an ivy vine I pulled from the pile of sticks and blew my neighbors mind.

As a Boy Scout, this app helps me with all types of knots and has easy videos that you can slow down. This app is perfect for anyone is scouts or if you just want to learn knots!

This is a great App but they need to add these two knots!

I enjoy the app between activities to learn fishing knots!! It’s a relaxing way to view & review the knot techniques.

One might read “clap” on a hitch or Knot this app actually shows one fluidly how to work through it! Forwards, backwards faster, slower 180° opposite perspective, and knots 3D does this for lots and then some. All neatly organized by category. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I have had this app for many years. I’ve used it and organized knots into categories for a quick reference. As the old thing goes, “If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it.” It’s been a great tool with scouts. I pull this app out to show the 3D visual to help solidify their not skills. I like that you can control the speed of the demonstration. And also, you can turn the nut to look at it from all angles.

As a Scout leader, I find this app SUPER-HELPFUL, being able to show someone, (including myself), step-by-step, how to do some really difficult knots, as well as, the easy ones. Sometimes one may not remember, how to do a specific knot tied before, & this app gives you an easy, “oh yeah, now I recall” quick reminder, which is really handy. It’s fun to watch the “lightbulb” go off, so-to-speak, in someone else’s face, as they “get it,” when this app is able to show, (most of the time), with great ease, how to tie a knot, step-by-step. Being able to slow down, or speed up, the steps, as well as being able to turn the view around, to an opposite viewpoint. It’s great! I HIGHLY recommend this app. It is the absolute BEST, at showing how to tie knots. In fact, today, I am telling all of my fellow leaders in my troop to download this app, as we are responsible for teaching some knots to some fellow scouters, and scouts, at an upcoming camp-o-ree. Thumbs up, 5 stars. Kudos to the app developer(s) on such a well-done app!

This is the only knot app I use. It is excellent!!!

Most demos use a natural right handed person. As a natural lefty I have to study knots in an opposite direction to what “fits” my brain. When I do configure my brain to proper knots, - if they are “left’ also told they are incorrect.

I will never delete this app.

This app makes it very easy to review not you already have learned in the past and our new nuts that are useful for different applications

Many different knots. 3d animation of knots and adjustable tie speed is great.

Worth the money, you can speed up and slow down the animation and it has what the knot is good at

I use this app on the reg. Rope skills are perishable and this app is a must have resource for referencing knots. I would like the developer to fix the problem where my favorites routinely just disappear. Probably after an update to the app or iOS but it’s frustrating and unnecessary. I paid for the app, so let me store that data in iCloud.

This is my favorite, knot tying app. It is easy to use, detailed, and accurate. You can use it at your own pace and get great results. It can be used by adults and children alike. This is one of the better usable apps on the market. I’m a satisfied customer.

I’ve had this app for years and it’s such a great reference. Such care went in to including the history, alternative names, and details for each knot. The 3d animations and organization is also outstanding.

This app probably has more kinds of knots than you’ll ever need. Great animations show exactly how to tie them & you can control the speed. Also explains the history of every knot; very interesting.

Easy to use with plenty of options to control knot visual and the knot database is extensive. I can easily say this is the best knot app because I haven’t bothered looking at the rest.

This is one of my favorite apps in any category. Super clear and easy, the speed control to slow down animations is great and the library is huge. The history of the knots is also cool. Buy the app and get some rope. You won’t regret it.

This is a really awesome app! I don’t need it often, but when I do it’s always perfect for the job. Clear instructions and a great interface, love it!

I use this mostly for fishing knots, but it’s been pretty fun to scroll through everything and learn others. The 3D models are a huge upgrade over 2D illustrations, and being able to adjust the animation speeds of the tying process is so useful. Wonderful app!
